Research academy to be set up

PESHAWAR, April 20: The government has decided to establish an Education Services and Research Academy on the pattern of the staff college in light of the recommendations of the provincial education commission and the provincial cabinet.

A summary in this connection has been sent to the NWFP chief minister for approval.

This was announced at a meeting held here with the NWFP Minister for Education, Maulana Fazle Ali Haqqani, in chair.

The meeting was told that the academy, apart from arranging refresher courses, would introduce diploma courses for teachers and management personnel of the education department. Preparation of master trainers, introduction of planning and management courses for the heads of educational institutions, training of EDOs, DDOs would also be conducted at the academy.—APP
