Pindi-Lahore coach service launched

RAWALPINDI, April 20: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed launched the Super Deluxe coach service between Rawalpindi and Lahore, here on Friday.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, the minister said the coach would run on a daily basis and would carry a large number of passengers.

“These coaches are more spacious and comfortable than (the) air-conditioned sleepers and have been manufactured by (the) Pakistan Carriage Factory, Islamabad at a very low cost,” the minister explained.

He said with the modernization of the Pakistan Railways, passengers now preferred travelling by train and an increase of 2.5 million passengers had been observed over the last few months.—APP
