KARACHI, April 12: After snatching a team skeet gold three-days ago, Sindh picked up their second gold in the National Games Shooting Championship when they won the trap team event at Naval Shooting Range on Thursday.

Sindh trio of Usman Sadiq, Captain Mahmood Sultan and Olympian Khurram Inam accumulated 304/375 points to clinch the gold medal.

However, provincial team was unlucky to miss the double when Usman Sadiq lost to Army's captain Junaid in the shoot-out after both were tied at 124 points each. Junaid on the first attempt brought down the bird, while Usman Sadiq missed the target.

Ace shooter Khurram, who had represented Pakistan in Sydney and Athens Olympics skeet event, showed his class in trap by capturing a bronze medal.

After creating a new record in rapid-fire pistol contest on Wednesday, Maqbool Tabbasum completed another double when he won the individual standard pistol and team gold, raising his tally to four gold.

After five days of competition, Navy is leading with 14 gold, 11 silver and four bronze, Army is second with 10-13-8 and Sindh stands third with two gold, two silver and as many bronze.—APP
