Adil grabs five gold in swimming

KARACHI, April 12: Army swimmers captured as many as nine gold medals in the swimming event of the National Games at CDGK pool on Thursday. Adil Baig produced an outstanding by winning two individual gold 200 meter individual medley, 200 meter freestyle, 4x100 meter individual medley and 4x200 medley besides snatching silver medal 50 meter freestyle.

Faiz Muhammad completed a double by snapping the gold in 50 and 200 meter in backstroke.

Following are the results:

50 meter Free style: 1. Sikandar Khan (Wapda) 25.79 sec; 2. Adil Baig (Army) 25.95 sec; 3. M.Hameer (Army) 26.41 sec

200 meter Free Style: 1. Adil Baig (Army) 2min 04.62 sec; 2. Firdos Khan (Army) 2min 08.10 sec; 3. Faiz Rasool (Wapda) 2min 20.59 sec

1500 meter Free style: 1. Liaquat Ali (Army) 18min 52.29 sec 2.

M.Kabeer (Army) 19min 30.69 sec 3. Shahbaz Khan (Wapda) 20min 34.71 sec. —APP
