Army capture three taekwondo golds

KARACHI, April 12: Army athletes got maximum honours at the taekwondo events as they captured three gold medals in five finals competed on Thursday at Women's Sports Complex.

Arif Mehmood grabbed the gold medal in the men's singles competitions for Army in the welterweight category final. Asma Imdad and Nasim Fatima won the other two gold medals by winning the women's featherweight and flyweight category finals. Army also got two silver medals in various events of the discipline.

Railways and Wapda were the other two units to secure gold medals in the taekwondo events. Usman Abid brought gold medal for Railways in the featherweight category while Rizwan Aslam won the top medal in light weight for Wapda. —PPI
