CHAKWAL, April 12: According to the complaints received by the anti-corruption department, the revenue department was on top of the corruption list, police second while the education and health departments were placed at third and fourth positions respectively.

“There are some honest people in the government departments and due to them the present system is functioning,” said deputy director anti-corruption department, Altaf Hassan Kazmi, while addressing government officials, journalists and public representatives here on Wednesday.

He said people should avoid giving bribe to government officials and point out corrupt officials to his department.

The graph of corruption was increasing in Pakistan since independence and this was for the first time that the anti- corruption department approached the people directly to point out the ‘black sheep’ so that the menace of corruption is eradicated from government departments, he added.

According to Islamic teachings, he said, those who give and those who take bribe both would be sent to hell. Corrupt officials must be accountable to God as well as to the people, he added.

Mr Kazmi said that laws of the country must be implemented in their true spirit.

The deputy director anti-corruption requested the public to contact the department whenever needed.

Body found: The dead body of a young man was found at village Bekhari Kalan, police said here on Thursday.

Mohammad Razaq, a resident of village Adhlaka, told Sadar police Chakwal that his son Noor Khan was a personal servant of one Riaz Hussain, a resident of village Walana.
