IMF advice


WASHINGTON, April 12: Latin American economies have come a long way in improving their abilities to withstand shocks but need to open themselves further to the global marketplace and broaden their tax bases, IMF Managing Director Rodrigo Rato said on Thursday. “The region has improved its macroeconomic profile in terms of debt and inflation but the region needs more structural reforms to insert itself further into the global economy. —Reuters
