MIRPURKHAS: Paramedics decry jobs on political basis

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, April 7: Enraged by appointments in the health department on political basis, a large number of paramedics observed black day and shouted slogans against the officials on the occasion of World Health Day here on Saturday.

The main demonstration was held at the Civil Hospital which was led by the President of the Sindh Paramedical Staff Association, Nazeer Ahmed Detho.

Black flags were hoisted on top of almost all the government hospital buildings.

The protesters who were wearing black arm bands, also observed a token hunger strike within the premises of Civil Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Nazeer Detho accused the Sindh government of recruiting lower grade staff in health department on political basis by denying right to the lower staff.

He termed the government act illegal by saying that the government has deprived the lower staff of son quota which was causing resentment among the lower staff. He demanded cancellation of illegal appointments and appointment of sons of retired, deceased and in-service lower staff.
