KARACHI, April 6: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, before leaving for Muscat on a private visit, met with Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim at the Governor’s House. During the meeting, they reviewed the pace of progress of on-going development projects in the province.
They also discussed different issues being faced by people, including measures to control crime, uninterrupted power supply and employment.
Chief minister’s Adviser on Home Affairs Waseem Akhtar was also present at the meeting. There was consensus among all present over community policing, along with the need for taking more steps to rein in crimes.
The meeting expressed satisfaction over close cooperation between the institutions of law enforcement agencies, administration and Ulema for maintaining peace and tranquillity and hoped that this cooperation would be maintained in future as well.
The meeting directed KESC authorities to meet the utility’s required need of electricity from WAPDA, and to ensure required quantity of power supply, officials must remain alert.
In this connection the KESC was also directed to expedite pace of implementation of its projects regarding power generation.
They also discussed different measures to improve opportunities for employment in public and private sectors and directed all government departments to ensure recruitment according to merit, rules and regulations.
