KARACHI: Power failures continue in many areas

KARACHI, March 31: People from various localities in the city complained of intermittent and prolonged power suspensions in their areas on Saturday.

A complainant from Liaquatabad near Masjid Aqsa said that power supply to his locality was suspended at 9am and was not restored till 7pm.

Another consumer from Sherpao Colony said that power supply to the area was suspended at 7am and restored at 6.30pm.

A caller from Old Sabzi Mandi said that power supply to the locality was suspended for 2 hours. He asked the KESC officials to announce the schedule for power breakdowns.

Complainants from Raja Tanveer Colony, Orangi Town Sector 11-1/2 said that power supply to the locality was suspended at 11am and restored at 3pm. It was informed that the power supply was also suspended on Friday night from 9pm to 6am.

They said that there was only one PMT located near Masjid Aqsa which could not sustain the load of the entire population. Reports about power failures were also received from Gulistan-i-Johar, North Nazimabad and Baldia Town.
