Judicial complex to be completed by June 2008

PESHAWAR, March 30: Construction work on a Judicial Complex building, a gigantic project aimed at bringing all subordinate courts under one roof, is in full swing and would be completed by June 2008.

Spreading over an area of about 230,000 square feet on the Khyber Road and adjacent to the Peshawar High Court, the four-storey complex along with a basement, will house all courts such as accountability, customs, banking, anti-terrorism, environmental tribunal etc under one roof to save time of judges, lawyers and litigants from moving one court to other court situated in different parts of the city.

The government's priority towards judiciary's betterment can be gauged from the fact that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, despite his busy schedule and pressing engagements, came to Peshawar on March 16, 2005, to perform the ground-breaking ceremony of the Judicial Complex.

“Since its inauguration by the prime minister, construction work on the complex is in full swing.
