By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 30: Members of the Dawoodi Bohra community took out a procession, in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi, from Tahiri Masjid, Saddar on Friday afternoon.

The procession — comprising schoolchildren and various community bands — led by the community chief Shabbir Bhaisaheb Nomani, after passing through various city roads concluded at the same mosque in Saddar.

Earlier, speaking at the central majlis at Tahiri Masjid, Mr Nomani urged the community members to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) which would continue to guide the entire mankind for all the times to come.

Emphasising on character building and good conduct, he urged people to make efforts to obtain excellence in all fields of learning.

Quoting from the sayings of the community’s spiritual leader, Syedna Burhanuddin Hassan, he said that the Syedna always urged his community members to be faithful to one’s country of birth or adoption.

He said that when the Ummah celebrated the Eid Miladun Nabi together inspired by brotherhood and blessed by the remembrance of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) they represented unity of Islam.

Other majalis were also held at different city mosques. Mustansir Bhaisaheb spoke at the majlis held at Hassani Masjid, Clifton and Nooruddin Bhaisaheb spoke at Hussami Masjid, Hyderi.
