LAHORE, March 29: The much-awaited ad hoc committee meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), scheduled to be held on Saturday, has been postponed. Several key decision were likely to be taken in meeting for resurrection of Pakistan cricket after team’s dismal performance in the ongoing World Cup in the West Indies.

Dawn learnt on Thursday that the meeting was postponed since PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf is still unsure of his future in the board and awaits the fate of his resignation which he tendered to board's patron President Gen. Pervez Musharraf five days ago.

The PCB, through a press release issued on March 18, had hinted major changes in its set up which could come in the March 31 meeting but it has been postponed for the time being.

Moreover, reliable sources told Dawn that two members of the ad hoc committee - Ali Raza and Mueen Afzal - are reluctant about continuing with the PCB as they are livid with the national team's performance in the mega event.

A PCB press release, announcing the postponement of the meeting, also gave credence to reports regarding the disillusionment of the two members when it stated that ‘unavailability of the ad hoc committee members was the reason why the meeting was deferred.’ No new dates were given for the meeting.
