LARKANA, March 29: The principal of the Government Degree College led a procession on Thursday demanding that the government get the college’s playground, which had been encroached upon, vacated.
Principal Ghulam Hussain Kaptar led the march which started from the college and ended at the press club. He alleged that a lawyer Ahmed Hussain Khoso had illegally occupied the playground and demanded removal of encroachments.
Earlier, a meeting of the college’s teaching faculty chaired by the principal resolved to foil the land-grabbers attempt to occupy the ground and urged the Sindh education minister, district nazim and district coordination officer to get the college’s land vacated.
SNF RALLY: It was one of the fundamental responsibilities of the state to protect people’s life honour and dignity but unfortunately the situation in Pakistan was quite reverse, said Amir Bakhsh Bhutto, vice-chairman of Sindh National Front (SNF) while talking to trade union leaders on Thursday.
He accompanied by local SNF leaders met with the leaders of PTCL employees union, Watandost Mazdoor Federation, State Life workers association and other labour organisations to muster support for the NSF’s March 31 anti-lawlessness rally in Larkana. They all lent support to the party’s call, SNF media cell in-charge said.
The time had arrived for people to opt for self-protection measures, he said.
