KARACHI: Ibad stresses strict check on vice dens

KARACHI, March 29: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has stressed the need for strengthening intelligence network in the province to eliminate street crime and vice dens, and directed the authorities concerned to seek undertaking from all DPOs, TPOs and SHOs stating that no gambling dens, drug cartel or brothels were operating in their respective jurisdiction.

Presiding over a meeting at the Governor’s House here on Thursday, Dr Ibad warned that if any police personnel or group or individual was found patronising vice dens, he would have to face stern action.

He also directed high-ranking officials to take appropriate action against any of his subordinate showing negligence in the discharge of his duties. He said the action should not be limited to his transfer, but must be appropriate.

He impressed upon all elected representatives to play their due role in this regard, stressing that cooperation from community was necessary in eliminating crime from society. He observed that vice dens were spoiling young generation and it was noticed that youngsters were getting involved in various crimes to meet their personal needs.
