KARACHI, March 29: Eight ships carrying vehicles, containers and to load cement and molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as nine ships, Kota Perkasa, C. Ebony, Al-Wajba, Hyundai Sprinter, Y.M. Moon, Nyzdan, Soon Fu, Oel Esteem and African Pal to load cement and unload containers were berthed.

Four ships, APL Jabel Ali, Harmony, C. Ebony and Al-Wajba departed on Thursday, while Hyundai Sprinter, Islamabad, Nyzdan, Kota Perkasa and Y.M. Moon are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a modest increase at 76,566 tons comprising 23,026 ton of export cargo including 2,745 tons of rice and 4,200 tons of cement and 53,540 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Friday: Biro Bong with cars, Oel Aishwarya, Iran Hesabi and Calvin P. Titus with containers, Pacific Pointer coal, Sea Princess and Lady Sama to load 19,000 and 5,000 tons of cement and Global Union to load 4,500 tons of molasses.
