Tribal jirga convened over Bajaur killings

KHAAR, March 28: The political administration of Bajaur Agency has convened a jirga of Utmankhel and Terkhani tribes on Thursday to discuss the situation arising out of the killing of two officials of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and two local tribesmen on Tuesday.

Officials said elders of the two dominant tribes of agency had been invited to attend the jirga, where Political Agent Shakeel Qadir was likely to brief them on the situation.

Officials said the bodies of the tribesmen had been placed in a hospital for identification.

The authorities said the motorbike used in the attack was blasted with a bomb in Dor Banda area on Wednesday.

They said that the assailants had left the bike in a deserted area. They said the explosion took place when Levies personnel were proceeding to the site where the bike had been left.
