LAHORE, March 28: Liquefied petroleum gas companies on Wednesday increased the LPG retail price by Rs3 per kg, raising the prices of domestic cylinder by Rs30 and commercial cylinder by Rs115.
LPG Dealers Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said that despite instructions by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to reduce LPG prices by Rs2 per kg from March 3, the companies had increased the price.
“LPG prices in the international market have reduced by $50 per ton, hence there is no reason to raise domestic prices further,” he said, adding that the unilateral increase had exposed the helplessness of the price regulating authority -- Ogra.
He criticised the hike and said that it had created serious problems for the dealers.
