Twenty-seven medals at stake in sailing event: 30th National Games

KARACHI, March 28: A total of nine gold and an equal number of silver and bronze medals will be at stake in the sailing event of next month’s 30th National Games. The sailing regatta will commence three days earlier (April 6) than the formal opening of the games which is scheduled for April 9, secretary, Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF), Cdr. Navaid Usmani said on Wednesday.

The events approved by PSAF president, Vice Admiral S. V. Naqvi, includes 470, Enterprise, Match Racing, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Mistral and Optimist boys and girls.

He disclosed that seven out of 11 affiliated units of POA, namely Army, Navy, Air Force, NWFP, Wapda, HEC and hosts Sindh have confirmed their participation in the regatta which takes place at PN Aquatic Club, Dockyard.

The notice of race carrying necessary instructions pertaining to regatta is being circulated to all units of the POA.
