Security arrangements for Eid-i-Milad finalised


ISLAMABAD, March 28: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration finalised its arrangements to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi in a befitting manner. The arrangements for security, emergency medical cover, parking and lighting along the routes of the processions, were reviewed and finalised in a meeting held here on Tuesday. It was presided over by the deputy commissioner of Islamabad, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali.

The deputy commissioner informed the meeting that the district administration and the Islamabad Police had made foolproof security and traffic arrangements on the eve of Jashan-i-Eid Miladun Nabi.

He said that walk-through-gates and metal detectors would be used and asked the members of the Milad Committee to constitute monitoring teams for keeping a vigilant eye on suspicious elements and issue identification cards to their team members.

He said Civil Defence volunteers and staff of the Auqaf department would also be on duty on the occasion.

SSP Zafar Iqbal Awan said the police would provide security cover to the processions.

The Ulema also elaborated the security arrangements made by the Milad Committee and requested the CDA to make arrangements to decorate the procession routes and also appealed for proper sanitation and water arrangements at the procession routes.

The deputy commissioner said that strict security arrangements were being made and the district administration, police and the Milad Committees would closely coordinate with each other.

Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations: Eid Miladun Nabi will be celebrated on Sunday, April 1, across the country with religious enthusiasm and solemnity.

A one-day National Seerat Conference will be organised at the National Library Auditorium.

Prominent ulema and scholars from across the country and abroad will attend the conference.

A prize distribution ceremony for position-holders in the book competition will also take place at the concluding session of the conference.

Seerat conferences at the provincial headquarters, districts will also be held.

Seerat competitions will also be organized by the provincial governments and educational institutions aiming at highlighting the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

PTV and Radio Pakistan will organise Naatia Mushaira and quiz competitions on the occasion.

Newspapers and magazines will publish special supplements, while the electronic media will air special programmes, highlighting the sanctity and significance of the day.

Various religious, social and cultural organisations have finalised their programmes to organise Milad gatherings where speakers will highlight various aspects of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Banners and illumination of public buildings throughout the country have also been arranged.—APP
