KARACHI, March 28: The Trade Unions Alliance leaders have rejected the ‘New Compensation and Benefits Structure’ for the employees of State Bank of Pakistan and termed it a discriminatory policy of the authorities concerned.
They said they were not taken into confidence and they were not ready to accept the unilateral decision about the New Compensation and Benefits Structure.
The alliance leaders said the employees would raise voice against the decision if implemented.
Despite their repeated requests, they said, the SBP governor did not discuss the new policy with the employees’ union.
They said any new policy regarding the golden handshake should be implemented after taking the employees into confidence and there should be no difference in gratuity and pension and other allowances of the same cadre employees.
The general secretary of SBP Democratic Workers Union, Liaquat Ali Sahi, said employees were united on the issue and they would decide the next line of action in the first week of April.
He said the policy should be uniformed and based on justice. He said if the SBP management tried to enforce its decision the employees would move to the court.
He stressed the need that all the options should be discussed in a meeting of SBP officials and employees.
