ISLAMABAD, March 28: The commerce ministry on Wednesday extended the date for submitting applications for grant of licences to existing trade organisations till May 15, 2007.

The decision was announced through a notification issue here to facilitate those trade organisations whose licences were revoked on promulgation of the Trade Organization Ordinance 2006.Earlier, the last date for filing of application was April 15, 2007.

Similarly, the last date for renewal of membership of members of these organisations also extended up to June 30, 2007. However, this extension is on one-time basis and shall be applicable for the membership period 2007-08.

Renewal of membership for the subsequent years shall be required to be completed by March 31st every year, added the notification.
