Mahanama, Srinath omitted from panel


KINGSTON, March 27: Former Indian paceman Javagal Srinath and ex-Sri Lankan opener Roshan Mahanama were left out of four-man ICC panel of match referees which will officiate in Super Eights stage of the World Cup.

ICC also announced names of nine umpires who would be standing in next stage.

Umpires: Mark Benson (England), Billy Bowden (New Zealand), Steve Bucknor (West Indies), Aleem Dar (Pakistan), Billy Doctrove (West Indies), Daryl Harper (Australia), Rudi Koertzen (South Africa), Asad Rauf (Pakistan) and Simon Taufel (Australia).

Match referees: Chris Broad (England), Jeff Crowe (New Zealand), Ranjan Madugalle (Sri Lanka) and Mike Procter (South Africa).—Agencies
