CHAKWAL, March 27: The lawyers of Chakwal observed an hour’s strike and boycotted court proceedings to express solidarity with the suspended chief justice of Pakistan on Tuesday.

Two young lawyers - Aqeel Ahmed Janjua and Mirza Amjad Bashir - joined the hunger strike camp on the occasion.

The lawyers vowed to continue their struggle till the restoration Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as the chief justice of Pakistan.

Member Punjab Bar Council Hassan Raza Pasha said a complete strike would be observed throughout the country and senior lawyers of the district would attend the address of the chief justice to the Lahore High Court Bar Association at Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
