KARACHI, March 27: Pakistani and foreign investors have been invited for construction of Jinnah International Safari on a 50-year BOT basis.
This was stated by Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Rauf Siddiqi while speaking at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said construction in the safari, which will be spread over 150 kilometres starting from Sukkur, would be carried out by private sector, which would also have to pay all the due taxes.
The minister said the project would be completed in two to three years and the planning and development department would submit its pre-feasibility report.
He said Jinnah Safari would be constructed in the Shah Belo forests spread over 60sq-km. He said these forests were previously sanctuaries of outlaws and were got cleared from them after a police-ranger operation.
He said the project was presented before the Sindh cabinet and its summary had been approved by Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
Mr Siddiqi said the Safari would have a big park in which two-room motels would be constructed for families. The Safari would have a network of roads with boating facilities in the river in its surroundings. — APP
