KARACHI: Improved law, order attracts investors, says adviser
KARACHI, March 27: Sindh Home Adviser Waseem Akhtar has said a large number of foreign investors are approaching the government to invest in the province due to improved law and order.
Talking to Turkish Consul General Adern Mutaf at his office on Tuesday, he said special steps had been taken for security of diplomats, consulates, their properties and business.
He said that Pakistan’s image had improved world over because of continuous and successful exhibitions at Expo Centre. He said exporters and industrialists of over 70 countries would be participating in Expo-2007 on March 29. He said the interest of foreign investors in this exhibition could be judged from the fact that 90 per cent stalls had been booked.
Waseem Akhtar said the government was making efforts for women empowerment along with their economic well-being. They are being given preference in every field, he added.
On the occasion, they exchanged views over promotion of technology among Muslim countries and strategy to control crimes and other issues of mutual interest.
Adern Mutaf was appreciative of the endeavours made by Sindh Home Adviser to protect foreigners and maintain law and order in the province.
He said investment in Sindh was continuously growing because of government policies providing best investment opportunities to foreigners.
He said if present pace of development, investment and law order continued, Karachi would soon join the developed cities of the world.—APP
