KARACHI, March 26: An investiture ceremony was held at Corps Auditorium, Karachi, on Monday. Corps Commander Lieutenant General Ahsan Azhar Hayat was the chief guest on the occasion, said an ISPR press release.
Speaking on the occasion, the corps commander said that today’s regional environment demands more vigilance, and Pakistan’s armed forces will live up to their rich tradition of professionalism and bravery.
As many as 19 officers were given Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Republic Day for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
Lt-Gen Hayat conferred medals to the officers and congratulated them on achieving this honour. Besides two lady officers, 17 officers of various arms and services of Pakistan Armed Forces received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
The recipients of the medal are: Surgeon Commander Mrs Nuzhat Zaheer (AMC), Lt-Col Mrs Nusrat Zaffar (AMC), Lt-Col Muhammad Altaf (Artillery), Lt-Col Tariq Mahmood (CMI), Lt-Col Mahmood Ahmed (Artillery), Lt-Col Ghulam Mohammad Khan (Artillery), Surgeon Commander Akbar Waheed (AMC), Lt-Col Ahmad Nawaz Sheikh (ASC), Lt-Col Abdul Shakoor Razvi (Artillery), Lt-Col Muhammad Yasin Dogar (Signals), Lt-Col Tariq Zia (EME), Lt-Col Sana Ullah (AMC), Lt-Col Sarfraz Ahmad (Engineers), Lt-Col lmtiaz Ali Khan (Engineers), Maj Asim Pervez Chaudhary (Artillery), Maj Muhammad Afzal Shad (Signals), Maj Asad Ali Tahir (EME), Maj Nadeem Guizar (Punjab) and Maj Imtiaz Sarwar (Engineers ).
The ceremony was attended by a large number of high ranking military officers and relatives of the award winners.—APP
