KARACHI: Procession route for Chup-Tazia

KARACHI, March 26: The 8th Rabi-ul-Awwal Chup-Tazia procession will be taken out at 6:30am on Wednesday from Nishtar Park. It will terminate at Noor Bagh Musaffirkhana in Moosa Lane, Lyari.

According to traffic police, the procession will pass through Shahnawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, M.A. Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, again M. A. Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaar, Market Road, Mahabat Khanji Road, Atma Ram Pritam Das Road to Moosa Lane where it will terminate after holding a majlis.

As soon as the procession will start from Nishstar Park, all vehicular traffic coming from city side will be diverted on to Soldier Bazar Road from the junction of M. A. Jinnah road near Daudpota Road.

All traffic on Soldier Bazar Road from its junction with Dr Dawoodpota Road up to its junction with Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammed Khan Road will flow one way.

All buses, minibuses and trucks coming from Nazimabad side will be diverted onto Nishtar Road towards Zoological Garden to reach their destinations.

All buses, minibuses and trucks coming from Liaquatabad side will be diverted onto Martin Road towards jail side. These vehicles will, however, be permitted to proceed up to jail and will proceed via Jamshed Road, Dadabhoy Naurorji Road, Kashmir Road, Shahrah-i-Quaideen, Sharea Faisal up to Gora Qabristan and then via Mubarak Shaheed Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road, Lucky Star, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Dr Daudpota Road, Preedy Street to their normal routes.

When the head of the procession reaches the junction of M.A. Jinnah Road/Mansfield Street these vehicles will proceed straight for 602 EME Workshop, Mubarak Shaheed Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road, Lucky Star, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Fatima Jinnah Road, Maulan Din Mohammed Wafai Road (Stratchen Road), Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road.

Similarly, all buses minibuses and heavy vehicles approaching the city from Stadium Road side will proceed via New M. A. Jinnah Road.

These vehicles will be diverted at Dadabhoy Naurorji Road towards Kashmir Road from its junction with New M. A. Jinnah Road and link road behind Mazar Quaid-i-Azam.

All trucks, buses and minibuses approaching from Super Highway side will be diverted from Al-Azam Square towards Chowrangi No.2 Nazimabad and shall proceed along Estate Avenue Road, Shershah to Mauripur Road. For the return journey, these vehicles will proceed via the same route.

All buses, minibuses and trucks approaching from National Highway side will proceed via Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Mohammed Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No.10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No.2, Habib Bank, Manghopir Road, Estate Avenue Road, Shershah Maripur Road.

No private or public vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards the route of the procession from Guru Mandir Light Singal.

The vehicles will be diverted onto Bahadur Yar Jang Road and again onto Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammed Khan Road.

Under no circumstances will vehicles will be permitted to proceed along Soldier Bazar Road from the junction of Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammed Khan Road and Bahadur Yar Jang Road.

Automobiles coming from Quaid-i-Azam Mazar side along M. A. Jinnah Road will be diverted towards Bahadur Yar Jang Road. No vehicular traffice will be permitted to proceed towards Purani Numaish (Old Exhibition) traffic signal under any circumstances.

The diversion of buses, minibuses and other heavy vehicles will start well in advance, while private cars and motorcycles will be diverted as soon as the procession starts formation. No vehicles shall be permitted to park along the route of the procession.
