KARACHI, March 25: Unseeded Mustafa Zaidi pulled off the first upset when he edged past fourth seed Omer Shahid in three sets to enter the juniors’ under-17 singles semi-finals in the Sindh ranking tennis tournament at CDGK Sports Complex on Sunday.

Mustafa, runners up in boys’ under-15 Sindh ranking event last month, struggled for two-and-a-half hours to overcome the fighting opponent 7-6, 5-7, 6-3.

Zuhair Raza who won a double crown last month, and Abdul Rehman also cruised into the last four. Winner of Muneeb v Hasham Khan tie will complete the line-up.

Nameer Shamsi stormed into the boys’ under-13 singles final when he accounted for Arif Khan 7-5, 6-4.
