PPP forms legal aid committee

ISLAMABAD, March 25: The Pakistan People’s Party has formed a legal aid committee for Rawalpindi division to provide legal aid to its workers arrested on the eve of the protest call given by the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy.

The committee led by Shah Khawar Advocate comprises advocates Babar Ali, Sardar Altaf, Tasleem Abbasi, Azmat Qureshi, Sajjad Tanoli, Chaudhry Waris Khan, Ahsan Satti, Asad Abbasi and G. M. Shah, says a press release issued by the PPP here on Sunday.

A delegation of the committee visited different police stations in Rawalpindi where the arrested PPP workers have been detained.

According to the delegation, no charges have yet been levelled against the detained workers.
