SHEIKHUPURA, March 24: Four unidentified robbers snatched a land cruiser jeep from a doctor at Kot Ranjeet on Saturday and drove it while the victim’s daughter was asleep in the vehicle. They, however, dropped her on Gujranwala Road and fled.

The doctor along with his wife and son and daughter was travelling in his land cruiser to Lahore from Islamabad.

Reaching Sheikhupura Interchange, the doctor whose name could not be ascertained, parked his vehicle along the road to get medicine from a medical store in Kot Ranjeet. As he entered the pharmacy, four bandits dragged his wife and son out of the jeep and drove it without noticing that his six-year-old daughter was asleep in the rear seat. They, however, dropped the girl along the road and fled. Sadar police are investigating.

ROBBERIES: In three robberies in Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib districts, outlaws stole cash, ornaments and other valuables on Saturday.

Seven robbers set up a picket on Muridke Narang Road near Chora Rajputan and deprived commuters of cash, ornaments and other valuables. They also stopped an ambulance carrying a patient from Narowal to Lahore and looted cash and valuables from the driver and others travelling in the ambulance. Neither Narang Mandi police nor Muridke Sadar police registered a case as both police stations claimed the crime scene did not occur in their jurisdiction.

On Nankana-Shahkot Road near Bhattianwala, three robbers stopped two cars and a wagon and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables from those travelling in the vehicles. Sadar police are investigating.

Two armed men intercepted a family and looted gold ornaments and cash from them. Sadar Farooqabad police are investigating.
