KARACHI: KESC gets new CEO

KARACHI, March 24: The Board of Directors of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation has appointed Syed Mohammad Amjad as new chief executive officer and a member of the board effective from April 5.

He will replace Frank Scherschmidt, who has held the post since the privatisation of the KESC.

According to a KESC spokesman, the decision was taken unanimously and approved by the board of directors.

He said the KESC required rejuvenation of its spirit at every management level. Therefore, in the greater interest of the city's utility and with mutual consent, Mr Amjad would be instated in place of Scherschmidt, who has agreed to relinquish his responsibilities as CEO with immediate effect.—APP
