DADU, March 24: Relatives of Abdullah Panhwar killed a few days ago over an old enmity staged a demonstration outside the local press club on Saturday against police’s failure to arrest the murderers.

Carrying the Holy Quran in their hands Hajira Khatoon Panhwar, mother of late Abdullah, and her close relative Mohammad Urs, demanded immediate arrest of the accused Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Yousuf Panhwar who had been nominated in the FIR.

Ms Khatoon who is resident of Chhandan village, accused the investigation police of backing the accused and said that they were not ready to make any arrests. She said that the accused were issuing threats to her family.

STRIKE: Townspeople and social workers continued their protest and observed a token hunger strike outside the local press club on the second consecutive day on Saturday in protest against lack of health facilities at the Civil Hospital, substandard medicines and inefficient health officials.

The leaders Qaim Ali Siyal and Inayat Jamali warned that they would continue protest until the government accepted their demands.
