LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), March 23: An alleged outlaw was killed and a college student was arrested when the Bara authorities raided the house of a ringleader of kidnappers in Akakhel on Friday.

Bara officials said that acting on a tip-off, a Khasadar team raided the house of Yaghistan. Noor Khan, brother of Yaghistan, was killed when occupants the house put up armed resistance.

Yaghistan, however, managed to escape, but one of his nephews, Shehzada, a college student, was arrested.

The officials said that Yaghistan was wanted in a number of kidnapping cases, especially school children.

LIQUOR SEIZED: Authorities in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber Agency seized 20 bottles of imported liquor from a shop in Shanur market of Wazir Dhand bazaar.

Officials said that despite a ban on the sale of contraband, the shopkeeper was secretly selling liquors.

The shopkeeper, Latif Khan, was arrested and his shop was sealed.

The authorities some three weeks ago sealed at least 180 shops in Wazir Dhand for allegedly selling contraband goods.
