LAHORE, March 22: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the teams of Punjab, Sindh and NWFP/Balochistan for the Pentangular Cup, starting at different venues in Karachi from March 28.
To field strong teams against the two departmental sides competing in the event – Habib Bank and the Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) – players have been picked from the regions for the provincial teams.
Former Test cricketer Arshad Khan will lead the combined team of NWFP/Balochistan while Yasir Hameed, another Test cricketer, has been included in the team as Arshad’s deputy.
The Sindh team has no Test cricketer and was picked from Karachi and Hyderabad. Naumanullah will lead the province with Faisal Athar of Hyderabad as the team’s vice-captain.
The Punjab squad includes Test cricketers Misbah-ul-Haq and Salman Butt as captain and vice-captain respectively.
