KARACHI: Early completion of ADP projects ordered


KARACHI, March 21: Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to expedite work on development schemes and ensure utilisation of all available uplift funds within stipulated time.

He said this while presiding over a meeting held to review the Annual Development Programme for 2006-07. The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary for Development Ghulam Rasool Khero, District Coordination Officer Fazalur Rehman, City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Special Secretary for Finance Shoaib Siddiqui and Director for the General Monitoring and Evaluation Khair Mohammad Bhutto.

The provincial minister told the meeting that the Sindh government would provide funds for the under-construction flyover at Bacha Khan Chowk, Site Town; water and sewerage projects in Orangi and Baldia towns; furniture and medical equipment for the Sindh Government Hospital in Korangi, the Sindh Government Hospital in Liaquatabad and the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital, Orangi Town.

He said funds would also be provided for a link road from Hawkesbay Scheme 42 to Mehran Highway.—PPI
