BADIN, March 20: Two bandits and a police constable died in exchange of fire near Tando Ghulam Ali, Matli taluka, 130 kilometres off here on Tuesday.

According to reports four bandits snatched Rs250,000 from a trader Manoo Kolhi at gun point at Tando Ghulam Ali.

The police surrounded the bandits who vanished into the thick banana fields near Tando Ghulam Ali. Seeing the police, the bandits opened fire which was retaliated.

The encounter lasted for three hours as a result of which one outlaw identified as Siddique Brohi and his accomplice, whose name could not ascertained, were killed, while a bullet hit a constable, Ayub Chhalgari of Tando Ghulam Ali police station, who also died.

According to police, the third bandit also received a bullet injury. Police recovered the looted money. Till the filing of this report, the police party had cordoned the banana field.
