KARACHI, March 20: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has approved the architectural drawings of a 27-storey building Sofitel Tower to be constructed at the old Mideast Hospital site.

A meeting of the CBC was held on Tuesday with its president Brig Kamran Aziz Qazi in the chair, which was also attended by representatives of various government departments and other concerned firms.

After a comprehensive presentation given by Traffic Engineer Farooq Umar regarding traffic, parking and other related issues the meeting unanimously approved the architectural drawings subjected to provision of NOC from Civil Aviation Authority. It was said that all aspects of security, environment and height would be considered and to be cleared from the departments concerned.

The sponsor said that the 27-storey building would have 5 basements, a 6-storey shopping mall. It was informed that the groundbreaking ceremony of the project would soon be held and prime minsiter would be chief guest on the occasion.
