Govt urged to check crimes

MARDAN, March 19: The Mardan Amn Jirga held a march on Monday in protest against increasing crimes, particularly kidnappings for ransom, and demanded that the government should take action in this regard.

The protesters carrying placards and banners marched from Hoti Bridge to Pakistan Chowk, where they held a public meeting. They chanted slogans against the government for its failure to check crimes.

The leaders condemned the increasing crimes in the area and said the government had failed to provide security of life and property to people.

They said more demonstrations would be held if steps were not taken to control crimes. —Correspondent
