Rabi-ul-Awwal moon not sighted


ISLAMABAD, March 19: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee on Monday announced that Rabbi-ul-Awwal moon was not sighted across the country, therefore, the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal would commence from Wednesday.

The announcement was made after a meeting of the committee. The meeting was presided over by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and attended by Maulana Shabbir Azhari, Syed Niaz Naqvi, Maulana Anwar ul Haq Haqqani, Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Mufti Muhammad Rafique, Qari Roohullah Madni and Syed Shabbir Ahmed Kakakhail.

The committee also announced that 12th of Rabbi-ul-Awwal would be celebrated on April 1.

Members of zonal and local Ruet-i-Hilal committees were also present on the occasion.
