HYDERABAD, March 19: Sindh University has completed HEC-funded project of 15 suits in foreign faculty hostel at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro. Vice Chancellor of Sindh University inaugurated the hostel on Monday.

The VC appreciated construction and supervision by the engineering wing of the university.

Deans of faculties, members of syndicate, heads of different institutes and departments, registrar, adviser planning and development provost hostels, deputy provost Marui Hostel and others attended the ceremony.

In his briefing, the project director engineer said that construction of 15 suits in foreign faculty hostel was initiated in June 2005 and completed in March 2007 with the financial assistance of HEC which had approved Rs15.557 million for the project.

He said that under the project actual covered area of the building is 15,463 square feet comprising 15 suits with attached bathrooms, dining hall, lounge and residences of lower staff. He said the hostel was specially constructed for foreign visitors, professors and VIPs.

DINNER: The district government here on Sunday night hosted a dinner to felicitate the under-training officers of Civil Services Academy, who are on a study tour of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, the district nazim expressed the hope that the probationers after completion of training will try to resolve the problems of people of Pakistan.

“You are the future of the country and you must use all your faculties and training for the development of the country and prosperity of the nation”, Kanwar Naveed Jamil said.

Answering questions, the district nazim said that the main problem confronting the district was water supply and sewerage which had totally collapsed.
