Man shot dead by robbers

LAHORE, March 18: Robbers shot dead a man and took away cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in many strikes in the city on Sunday.

The police said two armed men entered Sheikh Tauheed’s residence at B-Block, Bank Colony, at 9:30am and held up the inmates. On resistance, they shot dead Tauheed, collected Rs100,000 in cash, a jewellery set, two cell phones, two watches and other valuables and fled.

A robbery-murder case was registered on the complaint of Muhammad Ali, the deceased’s son.

Two armed people shot at and injured passerby Ishtiaq on resistance and snatched his cell phone at Baghbanpura early on Sunday.

Some robbers in police uniform came to the office of Ashrafi Town in City Raiwind early in the morning and sought information from security guards. They held up the guards, tied them with ropes and took away cash and valuables.

Five gangsters barged into the house of Mian Mansoor, a retired PIA employee, in Chuhng and took away cash, prize bonds and other valuables worth Rs400,000.

Kashif was robbed of Rs3,000 in cash and a cell phone on Ferozepur Road. A motorcycle (LEL-3547) was driven away by robbers from Bismillah Chowk in Sattukatla.
