PM promises action against attackers

ISLAMABAD, March 17: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the government will take strict action against those involved in causing damage to the Geo TV channel office in Islamabad on Friday.

The prime minister held out the assurance during a visit to the offices of the TV channel and The News here on Friday, where he saw the damage.

He said a judicial inquiry had been ordered into the incident and strict action would be taken on its completion.

He said the government would compensate the loss caused in the attack.

He said the media should continue to make the people aware of the facts through objective reporting and analysis.

He accompanied by federal Information Minister Mohamamd Ali Durrani and Minister of State for Information Tariq Azim Khan.
