LAHORE, March 15: A high-level committee, headed by special secretary Nadeem Hassan Asif, has been constituted to examine the problems of local government employees and submit its recommendations in three months.

Punjab Local Government secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarrar disclosed this during a meeting of the All Pakistan Local Government Workers Federation here on Thursday.

The secretary said that Federation secretary-general Qari Taj Muhammad had been nominated on the committee to represent the employees.

He said that problems faced by local government employees had been increased following the introduction of the new system.

The committee would propose solutions of problems being faced by union council secretaries, fire brigade and sanitation staff and problems relating to payment of medical allowance, service rules and group insurance on a priority basis, he said.
