LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Age-ncy), March 15: At least three school students and a teacher were injured when the Khasadar Force personnel used batons to disperse students of a private school who staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of Assistant Political Agent here on Thursday.

Official sources said that about 40 students of Al-Junaid Public School, Peerokhel, along with their teachers, staged a demonstration at the tehsil offices, to protest against the kidnapping of their fellow student and to demand his immediate recovery.

Shakar Khan was kidnapped by unknown men while on his way to school a week ago.

The students pelted the building with stones when they were denied entry to the APA office. In retaliation, the Khasadar Force beat students with batons.

Officials confirmed that at least three boys and a teacher sustained head injuries in the scuffle between students and personnel of the Khasadar Force. The injured students were taken to hospital.

Two boys and a teacher were arrested during the rally.

Meena Dar, a political official, claimed that parents of the kidnapped student were not cooperating with authorities concerned despite the registration of a kidnapping case by the administration.
