Ahmad Ali Khan remembered

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 15: Journalists at a reference here on Thursday paid glowing tributes to Dawn’s late editor-in-chief Ahmad Ali Khan for sticking to the supreme values and ethics of journalism throughout his life and setting standards which seems challenging for the existing lot of journalists to achieve.

Being serious, polite and upright, he had proven to be a boss with whom working was a matter of pride for even the senior of journalists.

Veteran journalist and Dawn’s former senior staff reporter Hassan Akhtar recalled the era when he worked under the leadership of the legendary editor - not for years but for decades.

He said Khan Saab, as he was known to colleagues and admirers, never tried to cross the limits of decency or politeness even during times when his subordinates would commit blunders. The late editor-in-chief was strict, of course, because he had to observe high standards in journalism and became a role model for fellow journalists, he added.
