KARACHI, March 15: Seven ships carrying containers and general cargo and to load cement and molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where only two ships, Y. M. Sun and Harmony to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed included APL Jeddah, Hyundai Future, Oriental Sun and Onyx Arrow, while Al-Maqwa, Harmony, Banga Lanka and Y.M. Sun are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 80,950 tons comprising 20,248 tons of export cargo including 4,394 tons of rice and 4,077 tons of cement and 60,702 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Chettay Bottigileri to load 32,000 tons of molasses, Johar to offload 65,000 tons of crude oil, Hayley Nadhi, Cosco Panama with containers, Pacific Arrow to load 10,000 tons of cement, Ban Jiang Kou and Leopard with general cargo.
