KARACHI: Many areas face power failures

By A Reporter

KARACHI, March 14: Residents of various localities experienced prolonged and frequent suspension in power supply on Wednesday.

A resident of Metroville–III, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, said that power supply to his locality was suspended at 6am and not restored till 7pm. He said that due to the prolonged suspension, the affected consumers were also faced with several other problems, including water shortage. They complained that the KESC people at their ‘Helpline-118’ avoided telling consumers about the fault responsible for the situation.

A complainant from Askari Town, Landhi, said that power supply to his area was suspended at 2pm and restored at 4pm. He said that the KESC had failed to maintain a smooth power supply to its consumers even in normal weather conditions as power failures were a daily routine in this area.

A consumer from Sector-5 Surjani Town said that power supply to the areas was suspended at 7am and restored at 11.30am.

The KESC spokesman could not be reached by phone for comments.
