KARACHI, March 14: Active shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships to load, unload containers, and edible oil were allotted berths at the QICT and MPC terminal, respectively, says a PQA press release.

Three ships namely ACX Tsubaki (container); Al Soor-11 (diesel oil); and Yassos (iron ore) were at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at 70 per cent at the port where nine ships to load, unload containers, edible oil, furnace oil, fertiliser, seeds and iron ore occupied berths during the period under review.

The port handled a cargo volume of 96,140 tons comprising 82,761 tons imports and 13,379 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,335 Teus.

A container vessel, an oil tanker and an edible oil ship sailed out to the sea during the report period.
