KARACHI, March 14: Six ships carrying palm oil, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where nine ships including a bulk carrier and cement loader were berthed. They are: Thor Falcom, Friendly Sea, with general cargo, Kota Hapes, APL Jeddah, Hyundai Future, with containers, onxy Arrow, to unload cars, Al-Maqwa to offload oil, Caribbean Carrier to load cement and Brave John, with coal.
Sailing was also active as many vessels departed, which included Corin Thaikos, Independent Spirit, Wan Hai-303, Kota Hapas, Gulf Bridge, Red Sea Spirit, Thor Falcon, Bow clipper and Friendly Sea, while APL Jeddah, Hyundai Future, Al-Maqwa, and Bang Lanka are due to sail out on Thursday.
A total volume of 67,532 tons comprising 20,316 tons of export cargo including 3,063 tons of cement and 1,724 tons of rice and 47,216 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday; Gemini, with 8,000 tons of palm oil, Tess, with gas oil, Oel Aishwarya, APL Dalian, Y.M.Sund, with containers and Asian Queen, to load 20,000 tons of cement.
